Robot Finds 'Monster' Remains in Loch Ness

Loch Ness

Remains of Monster Loch Ness Found

The remains of a monster in Loch Ness have been found by scientist, though it was not the one they had been searching. The 30 foot long model is presumed to have got there when it was disposed off. The model used in 1970 film, The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, directed by Billy Wilder, had been discovered by an underwater robot which had been carrying out what had been described as `the most in depth survey of Loch Ness ever’.

When the filming was completed, the team had taken parts off the model, including its humps which were removed and it sank to the bottom of the lake to get rid of it. A retired fisherman, earlier this year stated that he had discovered a new crevice large enough to fit the legendary monster.

The leader of the Loch Ness Project, Adrian Shine, informed that the robot which was called Munin could approach areas of interest and image them at `extremely high resolution. It used sonar imaging to map vast areas to a depth of 1,500m. He informed Sky News that Loch Ness is 230m deep but that there had been claims that it was deeper and had a `special trench’.

Survey Conducted by Munin

He added that the torpedo-like robot had searched the area but `sadly the trench is not there. So the Nessie’s lair of a few weeks ago does not exist’.A spokesman for Visit Scotland, supporting the project stated that operation Ground truth had discovered a recognisable creature and though it has the shape of Nessie, it is not the remains of the monster that has mystified the world for 80 years but a star of the silver screen’. The discovery somewhat reflected the plot of the original film, starring Christopher Lee, comprising of a monster which turned out to be a hidden naval submarine.

The model had been found on the loch bed during a pioneering survey of the huge stretch of water, which some expected would find the real creature. However the survey seemed to disappoint them It revealed that the `Nessie trench’ which some believed, existed at the northern basin of the loch and could be hiding the monster, which does not really exist. The survey is said to be conducted by Munin, capable of swimming around and exploring areas of the bed which have never been explored before.

A Sense of Mystery Around What Lies Beneath Loch Ness

The survey which is the first of its kind in Scotland is being done over two weeks by Kongsberg Maritime and supported by Visit Scotland and the LochNess Project. In the past, Loch Ness had been difficult to survey owing to its depth and steeply sloping side walls.

It is said that Munin can map massive areas to depth of 4,921ft and has been utilised to search for downed aircraft and sunken vessels in the past. Adrian Shine had commented that `since Munin can dive and navigate itself safely at great depth, it can approach features of interest and image them at tremendously high resolution. He further added that they have already excellent images of the difficult side wall topography and are looking forward to discover artefacts symbolic of the human history of the area.

Malcolm Roughead chief executive of VisitScotland has stated that they are excited to see the findings from this in-depth survey by Kongsberg, but no matter how state-of-the-art the equipment may be and what it could reveal, there would always be a sense of mystery around what may lie beneath Loch Ness.

The Death of Mary Reeser

Mary_Reeser

Reported Event of Mary Reeser

Reported events of spontaneous human combustion wherein a person tends to burst into flames with no obvious cause, dates back to the late 15th century. One of the most recent incidents which have been mentioned more often is that of Mary Reeser. A 67 year old, Reeser, a resident of St. Petersburg, Florida had spent the evening of July 1, 1951, in a most amazing way, receiving visits from her son as well as her neighbour.

At that point of time, Mary Reeser had been wearing a rayon nightgown, bedroom slippers and a robe and when they had left her, everything in the apartment seemed to be normal. The next morning, a telegram courier had arrived and receiving no answer to his knock at the door had summoned the same neighbour who had visited her earlier.

They had found the doorknob hot to the touch and they sought help from the nearby construction workers and according to other source, policemen for help in getting into the apartment. When they got into the apartment, they observed that the apartment was unusually warm inspite of the fact that some of the windows seemed to be open.

No Indication of Break-in/Burglary

In a corner of the room they noticed a pile of ashes, which were the burnt remains of a chair and lamp together with an electric clock with a melted plug that had stopped at 4.20 a.m. Other than the burnt remnants in this area, the apartment seemed to be completely undisturbed. On close inspection, in the ashes, they found a left foot of the women still wearing a slipper, while other sources stay that it was a shrunken human skull. It was all that was left of Mary Reeser.

There was no indication of a break-in or burglary or any kind of outside influence in the apartment and the authorities were confused, seeking the help of consultants. According to the experts, this seems to be no ordinary fire. They had estimated that a fire of 3,000 degrees burning for many hours would be required in order to consume a human being thoroughly. With the fire of such intensity, burning for that long, gave rise to queries as to why the rest of the apartment if not the complete building had not burned down.

Cause – Neglected Cigarette

St. Petersburg police sought the help of the F.B.I., but they could not shed any light on the incident. The F.B.I. had informed that there was no spontaneous human combustion nor was her death caused by lightning or chemicals. Wilton Krogman, physical anthropologist and a consultant on the case wrote that he found it hard to believe that a human body once ignited will literally consume itself, burn itself out as does a candle wick….never had he seen a body so completely consumed by heat.

This is contrary to normal experience and regards it as the most amazing thing ever seen and as he reviews it,he feels a vague fear. Possible explanations have come up ranging from ball lightning to explosives and after careful examination which went nowhere; the police eventually and lamely put the cause as a `neglected cigarette’.Just what could have occurred on that fateful night at St Petersburg seems to be a mystery which tends to remain unsolved.

History Mystery: Black Hole Tragedy of India

Black_Hole_Tragedy

Black Hole Tragedy – An Event of Indian History

The Black Hole that depicts the dark Tragedy is an event side of Indian History. Siraj ud-daulah, the Nawab of Bengal then had captured Fort William and Calcutta, on June 20, 1756, in which laid the main power of the British East India Company. After the fall of the fort, the British together with the Anglo-Indian prisoners of war had been pushed in small and stuffy dungeon at Fort William which is referred as the Black Hole of Calcutta.

It was reported that around 146 people had been imprisoned. It was claimed by the British that the dungeon had a possible dimension of 24 x 18 feet which was not adequately spacious to accommodate so many of them who had been forcibly shoved into the congested place.

According to the British records, the next morning about 123 of the prisoners had succumbed to their contrary conditions which was mainly owing to suffocation, crushing and unbearable heat. One of the survivors, John Zephaniah Holwell had provided this statistical information, though some state that the total number of captives was not over 69 and Indian troops had taken the surviving defenders prisoner.

Debate Regarding Precise Toll Still Continues….

Those among the prisoners were civilians and soldiers. Three other captives together with Holwell had been sent as prisoners to Murshidabad while the rest of the survivors had been released after the interference and following victory of Robert Clive. The debates regarding the precise toll tend to continue till date and the actual figures are not known. The Black Hole of Calcutta thereafter was utilised as a warehouse and a monument of 50 feet high had been set up in memory of the dead by Holwell but by 1822, it had vanished and presently there are no traces of the black hole.

Substantial history is there behind the capture of Fort William and the event of the Black Hole of Calcutta. The British had set up Fort William in order to safeguard the trade of the British East India Company, in the city of Calcutta in the region around Bengal. Towards 1756, in an attempt to colonize Bengal and steadily the rest of India as well as to be prepared for possible battles with the French forces, the British had started strengthening the military defense of Fort William.

Affected Internal Political/Military Affairs of Bengal

By doing so, they had affected the internal political as well as the military affairs of Bengal and the ruling Nawab of Bengal – Siraj ud-Daulah was unhappy with the excessive interference and envisaged it as a probable threat to the sovereignty of Bengal. He had ordered the British to end the on-going military action. However, the British did not seem to list to him.

In an attempt to curb the violence of British, the Nawab of Bengal had stormed the fort and killed several of them. The chief officer of the battalion planned an escape and a token force had been kept in the military fort, under the control of John Zephaniah Holwell who was a military surgeon and a top East India Company civil servant. The soldiers belonging to the allied troops who were mainly Dutch, in the meanwhile had abandoned the fight and the British eventually failed to resist the attack of the Nawab.

The Elephant's Foot

Elephant's Foot

The Elephant’s Foot – Solid Mass of Melted Nuclear Fuel

The Elephant’s Foot is said to be a solid mass of melted nuclear fuel which is mixed with plenty of concrete, sand together with core sealing material which the fuel had melted through and is located in a basement area beneath the original location of the core. The radiation level on the Elephant’s Foot had been measured at 10,000 roentgens per hour in 1986.

Towards the fall of 1986, the emergency crew struggling to contain the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl had made it in a steam corridor below failed reactor Number 4. In the chambers, they observed black lava which had emanated straight from the core and the most known formation was a solid flow which their radiation sensors informed them not to approach it.

The workers dubbed the dimly lit mass as the Elephant’s Foot. As per the readings taken at that time, the still hot proportion of molten core extinguished adequate radiation to give a deadly dose in 300 seconds. Anyone who approached it would have received a deadly dose within a minute. After just 30 seconds of exposure, the person would experience fatigue and dizziness a week later and two minutes of exposure, the cells would soon tend to haemorrhage. Four minutes would result in vomiting, diarrhoea with fever and at 300 seconds one would have two days to live.

The Chernobyl Disaster

The Chernobyl disaster had taken place on April 26, 1986 at 1.23 a.m. when exceedingly hot nuclear fuel rods were lowered in cooling water and an immense amount of steam developed which due to the reactors design defects produced more reactivity in the nuclear core of reactor number 4.

The subsequent power surge caused a great explosion which detached the 1,000 ton plate covering the reactor core, emancipating radiation in the atmosphere and blocked the flow of coolant into the reactor. Seconds later, a another explosion of a greater power than the first blew the reactor building apart and send out burning graphite together with other parts of the reactor core around the plant.

This started a number of intense fires around the damaged reactor and reactor number 3 that was still functioning during the explosions. When the nuclear fires were eventually controlled, workers climbed to contain the invisible dangers of the failed Chernobyl core.

Unknown Crystalline Forms - Chernobylites

After a period of six months of investigation, researchers discovered the Elephant’s Foot and with the help of remote camera, an extremely radioactive mass was discovered in the basement of Unit 4 which was two meters wide, weighing hundreds of tons and was called the `elephant’s foot’ due to its wrinkled form.

Concrete below the reactor had been steaming hot and was crack opened by solidified lava together with remarkable unknown crystalline forms called chernobylites. Chernobylite is a techno-genic mineral, a crystalline zirconium silicate having high content of uranium as a solid solution. It is highly radioactive owing to its high uranium content and contamination by fission products.

Thereafter it was concluded that there was no more risk of explosion. The contents of the Chernobyl tomb will tend to remain radioactive at least for the next 100,000 years and all the fire fighters together with the people who had worked in building the tomb had died around a year or so after the incident.

Alien Hunter Claims Curiosity Rover has Spotted A SHARK On Surface of Mars

Shark on Mars

Mars – Probably Covered in Ocean

It is said that Mars was once probably covered in a huge ocean, spanning almost half of the northern hemisphere of the red plant and presently UFO hunter asserts that he has evidence. In the midst of the rocks on the Martian surface, the unfamiliar supporter had spotted what according to him was a huge terrified fish. The image had been captured by NASA’s Curiosity rover and inspite of criticizing the agency for overspending on their fishing trip; he claims that this is one which is worth mounting on the wall.

In the black and white image that had been taken on March 23 from the Right B Navcam, a landscape of Mars is seen riddled with huge rocks. At the bottom of the image, is where UFO Sightings Daily editor Scott C. Waring stated that he had spotted proof of ancient Martian oceans. Waring revealed in a post with fishing puns, the findings that he implies the rover almost overlooked. He wrote that he guessed this is a story which did not get away since a reel expert can tackle anything and that it was a good thing that he could get an image of it or it would be difficult to believe.

Latest Claim Surrounding Signs of Life – Petrified Fish

Waring had further added that last year, NASA had announced that there were oceans on Mars and that it did look a lot like Earth in several ways.He presumes that the terrified fish is proof of that and looking closely, one will find the tail fin and the fin ridge which begins at the lower back fin, moving all the way to the fishes stomach. He had coloured the fish making it easier on the eye.

The fish seems to be about half a metre long, about the size of a bass or small salmon. This tends to explain the three various boats that had been located last year. He said that he feels NASA went overboard with their 2 billion dollar fishing equipment in order to catch this one, though it’s insolently worth placing on the wall. This seems to be the latest claim surrounding the signs of life on the red planet.
Shark on Mars_2

Martian Rocks – Oldest Fossil Remains of Ancient Microbial Life

NASA had explained at that time that sometimes NASA tends to feel compelled to react to rock speculation as it did with the well-known `thigh bone’ that was discovered in 2014. Mars probably did not have sufficient oxygen in its atmosphere and elsewhere to support complex organism and hence huge fossils are not possible. Some UFO enthusiast may have taken the sighting of the fish, seriously but we know that it could be a coincidental merging of the right rock playing with the shadows.

But then alien hunters would wonder why anyone would think of claims on the discovery of fossil fish together with other marine life on Mars as unbelievable when even NASA had admitted that the planet once had oceans and Martian rocks would hold some of the oldest fossil remains of ancient microbial life on the planet. Regarding the claims of Mars fossil fish, alien hunter like Waring may ask, `what is more natural than fish where there are oceans?’

Mathematicians Find a Peculiar Pattern In Primes

Primes

Mathematicians – Discovered Pattern in Primes

Mathematicians have discovered that prime numbers that are divisible only by 1 and themselves tend to hate repeating themselves and prefer not to imitate the final digit of the preceding prime. Robert Lemke Oliver, Stanford University postdoctoral researcher who with Stanford number theorist Kannan Soundararajan had discovered this unusual prime predilection had commented that `it is really bizarre and that they are trying to understand what is at the heart of its.

Primes, generally speaking are considered to behave like random numbers and whenever some kind of order is discovered, it tends to give the mathematicians a pause. Number theorist Barry Mazur of Harvard University has stated that `any regularity one can show regarding primes is appealing since there could creep around some new structure. Exposing some kind of architecture where it was presumed that there are none could lead to inroads in the structure of the mathematics’.

When primes tend to get in the double digits, they should end either in a 1, 3, 7 or 9 and mathematicians are aware that there are around the same number of primes ending with each digit. Each seems to appear as the last number about 25% of the time.

Bias in Order Where Final Digits Appear

In arithmetic progressions, the prime number theorem proved this distribution around 100 years back and the yet unresolved Riemann hypothesis forecasts that the rates tend to rapidly reach 25%. This property is tested for millions of primes according to Soundararajan. Mathematicians, without any reason to think then, have presumed that the distribution of those final digits had been basically unplanned.

Considering a prime which ends in 1, the odds that the following ends in 1, 3, 7 or 9 must be approximately equal. Soundararajan has commented that if there is no interaction among primes, it is what one would expect, though something funny tends to happen’. Inspite of individual final digit seems to appear somewhat the same amount of time there is a bias in the order wherein these final digits seem to appear. Prime which tends to end in 7 for instance is quite less likely to be followed by a prime which also ends in 7 than a prime which ends in 9, 3 or 1.

Anti-Sameness Bias

Andrew Granville, a number theorist at the University of Montreal and University College London had stated that the discovery of the final digit bias had no conceivable practical use and the point is the wonder of the discovery. The irregular pattern had been previously observed by two separate teams of researchers though the Stanford duo seems to be the first to clear a mathematical explanation for the pattern that was posted online on March 11 at arXiv.org. Granville who calls the work rigorous, refined and delicate, had informed that when the numbers were crunched by the researchers, based on the hypotheses, they had predicted that it fitted the results strangely.

One would contemplate that this `anti-sameness’ bias tends to follow naturally from the order of numbers and 67 is followed by 71 and is followed by 73. However, this explanation does not suit the data according to Lemka Oliver who checked the computer calculations out to 400 billion primes. He says that the `bias is way too large and is not equal for the non-repeating final digits.

So between the first hundred million primes for instance, a prime which tends to end in 3 is followed by a prime which ends in 9 about 7.5 million times while it is followed by a prime which ends in 1 about a million times. The last 3 is followed by a final 3, a mere 4.4 million times.

Jeanne de Clisson

Jeanne de Clisson

Jeanne Avenges the Death of her Husband Olivier

Jeanne-Louise de Belleville was born into an affluent French family in1300 and was the descendent of a British family that lived in Brittany. She spent most of her life as a noblewoman and was married to a wealthy man, Geoffrey de Chateaubriand at the age of 12 and had two children named Louise and Geoffrey. Her husband died in 1325 and four years after the death of Geoffrey, she had been remarried to Olivier III de Clisson, a wealthy nobleman who was obliged to defend Brittany from the English claimants. They had five children namely Maurice, Guillaume, Olivier, Isabeau who died in 1343 and Jeanne.

Though Olivier had served the French, defending Brittany from the English, the French authorities especially Charles de Blois, who earlier had fought by Olivier’s side, doubted Olivier’s loyalty. There were rumours circulating that Olivier had absconded to the English side. King Philip VI taking Charles de Blois’s advice arrestedOlivier and tried him with disloyalty.

Olivier was then taken to Paris and under the orders from King Philip VI had been executed at Les Halles on August 2, 1343. Olivier’s head was thereafter sent to Nantes and displayed on a pole outside the castle of Bouffay. Jeanne was filled with rage and swore vengeance against the king as well as Charles de Blois.

The Black Fleet

To avenge her husband’s death, she had sold her lands which she had and raised a small force of loyal men with whose help she could attack pro-French forces in Brittany. When her condition seemed to get dangerous on land she purchased three warships and took to the seas. She had the ships painted black and their sails dyed red.

The `Black Fleet’went out at sea and patrolled the English Channel, hunting down ships belonging to King Philip as well as members of the French nobility. Under her orders, her crew slaughtered mercilessly, the crew of the ship she had captured leaving only a few sailors alive to convey to the King that the Lioness of Brittany had struck them again.

She thus earned the epithet `The Lioness of Brittany’, hated as a monster by some and praised by others as a heroine. She continued with her fight to the French even after the death of Philip in 1350 till 1356.

Lioness of Brittany

She took great pleasure in hunting down and capturing ships belonging to the French noblemen while they were aboard. She would behead them with an axe and then toss their bodies overboard. Eventually, she retired to England which was the only place where the people liked the French just as much as she did.

After thirteen years of piracy, Jeanne married for the third time to lieutenant to the English King Edward III, Sir Walter Bentley. Towards the end of her life she returned to France and had settled in Hennebont castle and apparently died in 1359.

Taking into account the various tales regarding the Lioness of Brittany it is clear that Jeanne de Clission was not a defenceless damsel in distress but a fierce as well as a courageous woman who avenged the death of her husband. She seemed to be a woman of great substance and courage.

The Moorgate Train Crash

In 1863, the London Underground was the very first metropolitan subterranean railway system in the world and the idea of such a type of transportation system had been proposed in the 1830s. Permission for the construction had been granted only in 1854. The first trains had been powered by steam and it was only towards 1890s that the complete system had been switched to electricity which became the clean and environmentally friendly travel which commuters got accustomed to, in various main cities all over the world.

Over a period of years and decades, the London Underground or Tube had grown and expanded, covering the entire area of London and selected areas of the Home Counties. The London Underground, one line which went from east to west, now comprised of 11 various line and the key areas of the total network was Kings Cross. This was the scene of a shattering fire in late 1987 which brought into focus the out-dated safety measures of that time which was not the only tragedy to occur in the London Underground network. The incident took place on February 28, 1975, when the 0838 Northern Line Underground train had left half a minute late from Drayton Park with 300 passengers to Moorgate on the Highbury branch.
Moorgate_Train_Crash_1

Worst Peace Time Disaster in the Tunnel

As the train moved towards its destination at 0846, it failed to slow down and travelling at 30mph-40mph, the six-vehicle trained had entered the overrun tunnel at Moorgate terminus. The Moorgate train crash in London Underground was the worst peace time disaster which had taken place within the tunnel just outside Moorgate Station. The station was left in total darkness, engulfed by soot and dust. First responders to the scene at first thought that a 4 car train had somewhat overshot the platform and would have to be shunted back into position.

Only on working along the tunnel did they realise the gravity of the emergency. The first two and a half cars of the train had been telescoped by the force of the impact into half their actual length. The second car had also lodged beneath the first and the third had gone over the second, colliding with the first. After seeing the trio of cards wedged in a mess of mangled metal, it had been a shocking spectacle. It took the rescue operation consisting of over 1600 emergency personnel almost a week to complete their task. They were also accompanied by firemen, police and ambulance crew together with 16 doctors and endless number of volunteers and helpers. Over 13 hours after the crash, the last of the 74 injured passengers were removed from the scene.
Moorgate_Train_Crash_2

Observation- Driver Sat Upright & Unaware of Passing Scheduled Stop

The final person of the 43 fatalities to be removed from the scene of mishap was the train driver, a 56 year old father of two known as Leslie Newson. Newson had been killed together with 42 passengers and a further 74 passenger had been injured and in need of treatment in the hospital. When the engineers and the investigator examined what was left of the train to start their analysis, various considerations to the cause had been eliminated one after the other.

On testing, all of the vital components of the train as well as the systems, it was found to be working as anticipated. Anything which seemed to be defective was determined as the direct result of the impact and not the cause of it. On post-mortem examination of Newson, there were no signs of cardiac problem or a condition like epilepsy. When he was found there were no indications that Newson had done anything to prevent injury to himself and his hand was still holding the brake.

A week after the crash some curious facts was observed that another guard that was Newsons’ train had also failed to stop at another station. Passenger who had been waiting for the fatal train observed that the driver sat upright and looked directly ahead as if he was unaware of passing through a scheduled stop.
Moorgate_Train_Crash_3

Cause of Crash yet a Mystery

The driver seemed to be in good health and had not consumed any alcohol or drugs and was considered as a doubtful suicide person. He had worked for London Underground since 1969 and was said to be a careful and conscientious driver. Investigators had a clear idea regarding what had occurred, the train had failed to stop at Moorgate and had been going too fast for installed safety procedure of the time but do not know why it had occurred.

The question in everyone’ mind is why did a commuter train fail to stop when it was supposed to when both the driver and the train had no known issues? The cause of the crash continues to be a mystery. Forty years on, the site of the incident seems to bear no mark of it and the causes of the crash are not clearer now than they were at that time.
